There’s a first time for everything and last weekend in downtown Los Angeles, competing in the 2012 X Games was the proverbial notch in the belt for CoolFords & David Binks. This year marked the 10th consecutive year the event was held in Los Angeles.

This year, David Binks – driver of Best Buy Racing’s No. 17 Ford Fiesta Mk7 and staging-coolfords-coolstaging.kinsta.cloud – The Premier Website for Ford Enthusiasts, have both set their sights on an action packed partnership.
Olsbergs MotorSport Evolution (OMSE) and a few well known sponsors hosted a launch party for their drivers at the Oslberg shop in Huntington Beach. A garage full of race ready 2012 Ford Fiesta’s were lined up one by one.
Best Buy Racing will return to the Global RallyCross Championship in 2012 with a two car team partnering with Olsbergs Motor Sport Evolution (OMSE) for an all out assault to bring the GRC title and X Games 18 Gold back to Minneapolis.
Every year the LA Auto Show kicks off with two press days full of activity for journalists, designers and industry representatives alike. CoolFords was at the show this year snapping photos and shooting video.
Ken Block’s Gymkhana World Tour stopped by Los Angeles the weekend before X-Games 17. It was their 2nd stop coming all the way from Austria and their next stop is in Australia. This FREE event was held at the famous Dodgers Stadium on top of a small hill over looking Downtown Los Angeles.
GRC kicked off the 1st round of this 2 day event at Toyota Speedway. Several cars made it’s debut including the Hyundai Veloster, Dave Mirra’s Subaru Impreza WRX STI and Marcus Gronholm’s Best Buy Ford Fiesta. Crashes. Jumps. Dirt. Rally action! There was plenty of excitement on and off the track. This was the first time I covered motorsports. It was fun!
